Pete Rowland is a Richmond CA. boat instrument expert who provided excellent and knowledgeable service for replacement of a very old non-functioning B & G depth gauge transducer for my 1992 36 ft. Swan. He located and installed the necessary replacement parts which I had to order from a distributor in Fla. He was readily available by phone and email and provided follow-up service for the clogged knot meter thru hull paddle wheel at our dock after the boat had left his repair facility at KKMI. I can recommend him highly.

Pete is the go to for electronics installs and recommendations. He added Raymarine gear including MFD displays, AR camera, FLIR, new switches with wiring, bass speaker, and other odds and ends. He also installed the displays flush mounted as you see in the picture. Several years later still working great. Thanks for the piece of mind with your work.

I had to pull the mast on my boat so I contacted Pete at Rowland Marine Electronics to help me review all the mast wiring and electronics. Pete was extremely responsive and we scheduled a time to review the boat and mast wiring before the mast was pulled. Pete made a number of great suggestions, including building a junction box to clean up all the wiring and making it easier to trace issues in the future. Pete and his team did a fantastic job and all the work was done on time. The quality of the work and the finished product was excellent. Pete pays close attention to detail and makes sure all the work is done to best practices and standards. Pete was also extremely helpful in answering my questions and helping me understand the work being done. We were thrilled to work with Pete on the design and implementation of a complete power plant overhaul for our cruising catamaran. I initially came to Pete with a loose idea of what we trying to achieve. Pete took the time to work through every detail of the process with me, pulling out our goals and requirements to ensuring that we were designing a system that would deliver on everything we were looking for. Coming from an engineering background myself, I was happy and impressed that Pete always took the time to educate us about options, to advocate for superior solutions when available, and was always on the lookout for issues that could trip us up. Working with him felt like a true creative partnership. The end result has been a system that has delivered above and beyond my expectations - a Victron-powered 2600W solar charging system with dual Quattro inverters that has enabled us to live completely off-grid and without fossil fuels for months at a time, while still maintaining a high degree of creature comforts, including hot water! When it came time to translate the design to an installation, Pete tackled the space challenges of fitting the whole system into a single, tight engine room with creativity and attention to detail. The wiring layout is tidier than the factory installation was, with components cleanly laid out and labelled for ease of service. Pete and his assistant made sure we had a complete understanding of the system, including a detailed trial and walkthrough before handoff. In the (rare!) cases where we’ve had questions subsequently, Pete has been extremely helpful in getting us answers.

Our services from Peter Rowland have spanned over 4 sailboats and he is always the call we make to pick our navigation and electronics gear for changes or upgrades. He is able to review for us the choices of products on the market to meet our needs and price points. Installation is timely and always completed. He has also been available after his work has been completed for questions on other electrical marine issues on our boats.
